Welcome to Longvu LaManchas web site

We maintain a small, but very active herd of around 20 animals in southern New Hampshire.  Longvu LaManchas started in Holden, Maine in 1998 with the purchase of three foundation does from the Fieldstone herd in NH.  All three of these animals became permanent champions with two appraising 90 and the other 89 as permanent scores.  Our first breeding season produced only one doe kid and she eventually went on to make the top ten list for LaMancha milkers in 2002.  We have since added genetics from the Drucken-Hanks, Rockin-CB, and Lucky*Star herds.  In 2004, we relocated to Southern NH due to a job change and brought the herd with us.

Our goals are fairly simple:
  1. Breed LaManchas that are sound in structure with very well attached mammary systems,
  2. Select for consistency in milk production, with long, persistant lactations and above breed average production,
  3. Produce animals that have pleasing personalities and are easy to handle.
Our show season is long, extending from May to October and taking in from 9 to 12 shows every year.  While most of our show circuit is still in Maine and New Hampshire, we have also been to the other New England states in support of their shows and clubs.  Our kids are very involved in 4-H and we help to support 4-H livestock programs in several states.

Please feel free to browse through our herd listing and let us know what you think.  Helpful comments and critiques are always welcome.
